All 52 Stages of the South West Coast Path

The South West Coast Path is England's longest National Trail — a 630-mile (1,014 km) walk around the whole south-west peninsula, from Minehead in Somerset, around the cliffs and coves of Devon and Cornwall, to South Haven Point on Poole Harbour in Dorset. The route divides into 52 official day-stages; most walkers take 7–8 weeks to complete the whole path, or tackle it a region at a time. Tap any stage for its full guide.

How the trail divides

Exmoor & North Devon (stages 1–10): Minehead to Hartland and Bude — wooded Exmoor cliffs, the Great Hangman (318 m, the highest point on the path) and the wild switchback combes of the Hartland peninsula.

North Cornwall (stages 11–20): Bude to St Ives — surf beaches, Tintagel, Padstow and the old mining cliffs of the Atlantic coast.

Penwith & the Lizard (stages 21–29): St Ives around Land's End and Lizard Point (the most southerly point of mainland Britain) to the Helford and Falmouth.

South Cornwall & South Devon (stages 30–44): the fishing harbours of the Roseland, Fowey and Looe, Plymouth, the Salcombe and Dart estuaries and the English Riviera.

The Jurassic Coast (stages 45–52): Exmouth to South Haven Point along the World Heritage coast — Lyme Regis, Golden Cap, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Old Harry Rocks.
