1. About SouthWestCoast — what we are

SouthWestCoast is an independent trail-information platform and online marketplace operated by Pixelo Mobile Ltd. We publish trail guides and a free hiking companion app, and we list independent, licensed tour operators, guides, guesthouses and transfer providers so you can find and contact them. SouthWestCoast is not a tour operator, travel agent or organiser. We do not sell, run or resell tours, and we are not a party to any booking you make with a provider.

2. Bookings, payment & cancellation

When you book a tour, guide, stay or transfer from a provider listed on SouthWestCoast, your contract is solely with that provider. The provider sets and collects its own prices, deposits, balances, payment methods and cancellation/refund terms, shown on its listing or supplied by the provider directly. SouthWestCoast does not take payment for tours, does not hold deposits, sets no cancellation or refund policy, and takes no commission on your booking. Payment is made directly between you and the provider — please review the provider's own terms before booking.

3. Changes, cancellations & refunds

Because your booking contract is with the provider, all changes, cancellations, date transfers and refunds are governed by that provider's terms and handled directly with them. SouthWestCoast cannot cancel, change or refund a provider's booking and is not responsible for a provider's decision to cancel or alter a trip. If a provider becomes unresponsive, contact us at hello@walksouthwestcoast.co.uk and we will try to help you reach them, though we cannot guarantee an outcome.

4. Travel insurance

We strongly recommend that every hiker holds comprehensive travel insurance covering hiking activities, medical emergencies, evacuation and trip cancellation. Some providers may require proof of insurance — check the provider's terms.

5. Fitness & health

The South West Coast Path involves challenging terrain including steep ascents, rocky paths and high temperatures. You are responsible for ensuring you are in adequate physical condition for any route you undertake, and for meeting any requirements set by a provider you book with. If you have health conditions, seek medical advice and inform your provider before booking.

6. Liability & assumption of risk

Hiking and outdoor activities carry inherent risks. See our separate Hiking Risk Disclaimer for a full explanation. By using our trail information, app or marketplace you acknowledge those risks and accept personal responsibility for your safety. SouthWestCoast provides information and introductions only and is not responsible for the acts, omissions, services, safety or solvency of any third-party provider, nor for the performance of any tour, accommodation or transfer you book with them. SouthWestCoast is not liable for injuries, losses or delays caused by factors beyond our reasonable control, including weather, natural events, third-party services or participant actions. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (e.g. death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).

7. Who you contract with

When you book a tour, accommodation, transfer, guide or other service from a provider listed on our marketplace, your contract is directly with that provider, not with SouthWestCoast. SouthWestCoast's role is limited to listing providers and facilitating introductions — see our Marketplace Terms for detail. The only services SouthWestCoast sells directly are optional provider listing/subscription plans (to businesses) and our free hiker app — never tours.

8. Age restriction

SouthWestCoast services are intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the services; accounts are not offered to minors. Any additional minimum age or supervision requirement for a specific tour is set by the provider you book with.

9. Content & intellectual property

Trail guides, maps, photographs and other content on SouthWestCoast are owned by or licensed to Pixelo Mobile Ltd and may not be reproduced without permission. Content you submit (reviews, photos, messages) remains yours, but you grant SouthWestCoast a non-exclusive licence to display it on the platform. Any photography during a tour is a matter between you and your provider.

10. Complaints

Complaints about a tour, stay or transfer should be raised directly with the provider responsible for the service. For complaints about the SouthWestCoast platform itself, email hello@walksouthwestcoast.co.uk and we will respond promptly.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Online dispute resolution

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform to resolve a complaint out of court. Please contact us first at hello@walksouthwestcoast.co.uk — we'll always try to reach a fair outcome directly.
